Gastric hyperacidity is an unpleasant and even painful ailment. In most cases, you only need to change your eating habits and the problem will go away.

In today’s article, we will tell you how to combat  gastric hyperacidity in a natural way – by preparing a very effective cabbage remedy.

Where does gastric hyperacidity come from?

The stomach is an organ of high acidity because it contains hydrochloric acid which enables digestion. Sometimes, however, due to various factors, this acid can be too aggressive. In some cases it enters the esophagus and causes irritation.

What factors cause gastric hyperacidity ?

  • Inappropriate diet or non-digestible food.
  • Excess acidic products, such as: white sugar, refined flours, fried foods, red meat, cold cuts, milk, sweet carbonated drinks and alcohol.
  • Eating in a hurry and in excess.
  • Weakened digestive system due to a lack of enzymes.
  • Side effects of certain medications.
  • Stimulants: tobacco and alcohol.
  • Stress and negative emotions.
  • Sedentary lifestyle.
  • Polluted air in cities.

Alkaline-forming products

There are several natural remedies for an overacid stomach. Their effectiveness will be even greater if you include some alkaline-forming products in your daily diet.

When eaten every day, they will balance the acid-base balance and regulate the pH of your stomach . Of course, they will retain a degree of acidity that allows normal digestion. Belong to them:

  • An avocado
  • Cucumber
  • Almonds
  • Asparagus
  • Millet
  • Broccoli

We, in turn, recommend you cabbage. On its basis, you can prepare a very effective remedy.

Organic millet

Why just cabbage?

Cabbage is an economical and widely available vegetable, and its health properties are irreplaceable. In some countries it is hardly applied and in others it is included in most laws.

The alkaline effect of cabbage affects the work of the stomach, liver and intestines. Effectively prevents ulcers and other gastric ailments.

It should not be forgotten that it is also a great diuretic, strengthens the immune system and soothes rheumatic pains.

Fresh cabbage

What do we need?

To prepare two servings a day, we will need the following ingredients:

  • 300 or 400 grams of white cabbage.
  • 2 tablespoons (50 grams) of olive oil.
  • Half a lemon juice.
  • A pinch of ground black pepper to taste.
  • A bit of cumin.
  • Half a teaspoon (5 grams) of sea salt or pink Himalayan salt.

A method of preparing

We prepare the recipe first thing in the morning, because it takes several hours to “bite”.

  • We cut the cabbage into thin slices and chop it with a food processor (no exaggeration).
  • Put it into a glass container.
  • Add the olive oil, lemon juice, salt and spices. We mix.
  • Cover and set aside for two hours at room temperature.

How and when?

  • We divide the prepared remedy into two portions: eat one as an addition to lunch, and the other at dinner.
  • Remember to chew properly! Otherwise it may cause gas (hence the presence of caraway seeds).
  • This healing recipe is only a supplement to meals – it should not replace carbohydrates, proteins and needed fats.
  • Many people do not like the taste of boiled cabbage. Raw, however, it is milder and rather liked by everyone.
  • You will notice the difference after a few days. Just follow our tips and gastric hyperacidity will no longer be a problem for you.
