Banana Bread - Learn These 3 Easy Recipes!

Banana bread is one of the easy-to-prepare, but often forgotten delicacies. Some of us remember our grandparents’ banana pastries. They created an unbelievable home atmosphere, replacing artificial sweets. Fruit cakes are associated with home, don’t they? And why shouldn’t a banana be so associated?

Regardless of whether you miss your family home and carelessness or not – recipes for banana bread will steal your heart and remind you of home warmth.

You cannot miss these three suggestions, especially if you dream of replacing industrial sweets in favor of home-baked ones. We invite you to taste sweet traditional pastries with bananas.

Before that, let’s consider why it is worth eating bananas for our health.

Banana bread: why a banana?

First of all, these exotic fruits provide the body with valuable B vitamins, folic acid and vitamin C. Undoubtedly, they are also a rich source of potassium, which lowers blood pressure.

So let’s remember that the banana is a fruit of high nutritional value. It is recommended to eat bananas in many therapeutic diets, including those aimed at regulating blood pressure.

Cavendish bananas dominate the shelves of our stores and greengrocers. But do you remember how until recently the banana was a symbol of luxury in our Polish backyard?

However, let’s not forget that, just like Michela’s Gros bananas, Cavendish bananas are cultivated, not natural, fruit.

Banana Bread: 3 simple recipes for a tasty snack

The original banana bread recipe is believed to come from Southeast Asia. Still, the subject of the history of this dish requires exploration.

Banana bread

First of all, we should remember not only about the taste, but also about the richness of nutritional values, including potassium and vitamins B6 and C.

1. Traditional banana bread

The first recipe we have selected for you is the classic version, but without butter. This way we will avoid adding saturated fat to our homemade bread.

The necessary fat contribution is guaranteed by olive oil. We indicate this product because of its high nutritional value. In addition, it will provide the right consistency to the baked goods.

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 200 g of white sugar
  • 200 ml of oil
  • 3 bananas
  • 200 ml of milk
  • 400 g of sourdough flour
  • pinch of baking powder
  • a few drops of vanilla extract
  • cinnamon (to taste)

Preparation

  • First, preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
  • Prepare a mixture of flour and butter.
  • Then you just need to beat the eggs with sugar until you get a homogeneous mixture without lumps. You will see that the mass takes on a white color over time.
  • Add the oil and milk and continue whipping.
  • The next step is to peel and crush three bananas with a fork.
  • Then sift the flour along with the baking soda and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
  • Add the vanilla extract to the liquid mass and beat together until all ingredients are well integrated.
  • Add the flour and baking powder to the mixture . Do not beat the dough excessively to avoid activating the gluten and leaving the bread texture dry after baking.
  • Bake for about half an hour until the toothpick is completely dry.
Ready, enjoy your meal! However, we have a second option for lovers of nuts and healthy seeds.

2. Bread with seeds and nuts

We add the benefits of seeds and nuts to the nutritional contribution of bananas. In this case, we decided to include sunflower seeds, flax seeds and walnuts in the bread.

Nuts and bread

Of course, you can add the nuts and seeds you like best to your baking. To get more fiber, we use whole grain flour instead of traditional wheat flour.
